On this day of our lord 19th June in the year 2020  just 155 days after the first historic celebration honoring the end of slavery. Union General Granger lead thousands of federal troops to Galveston Texas to announce the Civil War had ended and slaves had been freed. There was no internet or cell phones. 

In my estimation, it was the farmers and slaves (all persons) known as patriots that were United to fight. They stood for the flag, liberty and freedom from the crown to become the United States of America.

Lincoln states in the emancipation -  “all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States, shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free”.

My perspective as I did my own research using the National  Archives and Presidential archives with a variety of texts from 1800 - 1870. And the scriptures from a letterpress print New Testament from 1870 that is a treasured gift.   I have learned quite a bit that was not taught to me in school, not provided without biased opinion or lauding editorials of the time.

I wanted to try an innerstand all perspectives to be enlightened by the real history during that time of civil unrest.   As Lincoln explains, he would do anything to save the Union. We are one nation ...  under God ... We the People. 

History shows that it is evil that divides, enslaves, deceives and  limits anyone’s  understanding/perception of what is really going on here in this world.

My world is not black or white... My reality is made of an infinite number of colors , people, animals all living at different levels.

I am so optimistic about our future I trust In God’s plan
