Birds take flight as emblems of grace and wonder—from Midwest Blue Herons and Egrets to the vivid green parrots of Puerto Rico’s El Yunque. Painted in oil with classical technique along with mixed media with an optimistic eye, these works capture the luminous presence of creatures that move between earth and sky. As Creator of Natural Wonder, I invite you to pause with them and find peace in the living world.

From the cows grazing the fields around our home in the Camuy hills to the horses, chickens, dogs, and the rest of the farm family, this collection honors the living world as I experience it — sturdy, warm, and full of character. Each painting is a study in form, presence, and light, rooted in classical training and a lifelong love of nature.

I paint custom oil and mixed-media portraits of dogs and animals, and the quiet bond between pet and person as well as people portraits capturing personality, expression.  I paint memories of places and landscapes.  After multiple spinal surgeries and nerve surgeries affecting my neck, hands and arms, painting became central to my recovery—restoring strength, focus, and purpose. That experience of healing through art shapes every portrait I create.

From soft, luminous Labs and goldens to soulful mastiffs, bulldogs, and fluffy white companions, to the brightly colored streets of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico each piece balances classical technique with warm, painterly sensitivity.

I enjoy Plein Air painting, which is French for outdoors, or is the act of painting outdoors. This method contrasts with studio painting or academic rules that might create a predetermined look.  I started painting outdoors about three years ago.
