In petals of pink,
Pearlina rests serene
A Pelícano Pardo, as the Puerto Ricans say,
silver-feathered queen.
Her beak curved in thoughtful, graceful line,
With teal blue eye that holds the sea’s design.Still as a portrait,
butterfly floating nearby,
But deep inside she sparkles, wild and spry.
Wings flare in laughter, pouch swells with glee,
A sudden whirl of joy across the sea!
